About the club

LWR Elite is the AAU basketball program under Hermann Fitness, operating out of Hermann Fitness (1300 Sarasota Center Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34240). We field competitive teams for boys in 3rd through 12th grade.

Our mission is to develop well-rounded athletes who compete with discipline, respect, and relentless effort. We combine structured team practices, individual skill development, strength and conditioning, and a competitive tournament schedule — both locally and nationally.

Every athlete trains at our facility with access to an indoor basketball and volleyball court, outdoor basketball training area, outdoor athletic turf area, and 8 indoor pickleball courts. Our coaching staff holds certified trainer credentials, CPR, and first aid certifications.

Program overview

Here's what your athlete can expect as a member of LWR Elite AAU Basketball.

Team Practices

Structured weekly practices focused on offensive and defensive systems, team chemistry, game situations, and competitive drills. Practice schedules are communicated at the start of each season.

Individual Skill Development

Position-specific work including ball handling, shooting mechanics, footwork, and basketball IQ. Available through our training programs (team, semi-private, and individual sessions).

Strength & Conditioning

Sport-specific athletic training led by certified trainers. Speed, agility, power, and injury prevention — designed to make your athlete more explosive and durable on the court.

Tournament Play

LWR Elite competes in AAU tournaments both locally in the Sarasota/Tampa Bay area and nationally. Tournament schedules are provided in advance so families can plan accordingly.

Travel

We travel locally and nationally for AAU basketball tournaments throughout the season. All travel costs — including transportation, hotel, and meals — are the responsibility of the athlete's parents/family. The club will coordinate travel logistics and provide tournament details well in advance.

Code of conduct

LWR Elite holds every athlete, parent, and coach to a high standard. Being part of this program is a privilege, and we expect everyone to represent the club with class.

Athlete Expectations

  • Be on time to every practice, training session, and game. Consistent attendance is mandatory.
  • Give maximum effort at all times — in practice, in games, and in the weight room.
  • Respect coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials. No exceptions.
  • Maintain good academic standing. School comes first.
  • Represent LWR Elite with sportsmanship and integrity on and off the court.
  • Take care of your body — proper nutrition, hydration, and rest.
  • Communicate directly with coaches about any conflicts or absences in advance.
  • No trash talking, taunting, or unsportsmanlike behavior during competition.

Parent Expectations

  • Support your athlete and the team — positively and constructively from the stands.
  • Do not coach from the sidelines. Trust the coaching staff to do their job.
  • Communicate concerns directly with coaches in a respectful, private setting — never during games.
  • Ensure your athlete arrives on time and prepared for all practices and games.
  • Cover all travel costs (transportation, hotel, meals) for tournament play.
  • Pay all program fees on time. Outstanding balances may affect your athlete's eligibility.
  • Respect officials, opposing teams, and other families at all times.
  • Be a positive role model. Your behavior reflects on your athlete and the entire program.

Coaching Standards

  • Prioritize the development and safety of every athlete.
  • Maintain all required certifications (CPR, first aid, certified trainer credentials).
  • Communicate practice schedules, game times, and tournament details clearly and in advance.
  • Provide fair and equal opportunities for development within the program.
  • Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, and respect.

Important

Violations of the code of conduct may result in suspension or removal from the program. LWR Elite reserves the right to dismiss any athlete or family member whose behavior is detrimental to the team, the club, or the sport.
